SPRING FLING KIKI BALL

Dearest gentlefolk and fierce fashionistas,

Strut, spin, and dip into the Spring Fling Kiki Ball, where regency opulence and queer brilliance come together in a Bridgerton-inspired evening.

Historically, Ballroom has been a space for queer and trans people of color to gather and celebrate their identities when facing racism and oppression from cisgender, heteronormative societies, as well as white LGBTQ+ spaces. Houses would form based on the need for community, as QTPOC elders would care for young, homeless LGBTQ+ people.

1. MF & FF Best Dressed - $250

• MF: Present yourself as the epitome of refinement in a regency-inspired suit, fit for a prince, duke, or gentleman of the era.

• FF: Grace the ballroom in an exquisite gown or dress worthy of a queen, princess, or lady of high society.

2. Realness - $100

• MF (Transman, BQ): Channel your inner artisan as a printer’s apprentice, think Theo Sharpe.

• FF (FQ): Show the judges your studious side and bring it like Eloise Bridgerton.

3. OTA Face - $250

• MF: Sell your polished face as a regency-era dandy. 

• FF: Frame your beauty with hair or a wig inspired by Queen Charlotte herself.

• GNC: Frame your face using a regency-inspired fan. 

• Beginners: Showcase your natural elegance with no makeup. Your effect should have bright pastel colors. GP battles for the cash. 

4. Old Way vs. New Way - $250

• Old Way: Pop, dip, and spin effected with ruffles.

• New Way: Contort and dazzle in a skintight suit. 

5. OTA Runway - $250

• AA: Stride with a polished effect inspired by the Duke of Hastings. 

• European: Gag the ballroom in an effect featuring a petticoat or cage silhouette. 

• FF (FQ, Drags): Shine as this season’s diamond in an effect inspired by Daphne Bridgerton. 

• Beginners: Bring your best regency-inspired look in bright pastel colors. GP battles for the cash. 

6. Nailz - $100

• Stun the crowd with a porcelain-inspired set of nails.

7. Kunt vs. Kunt (Corset) - $100

• Deliver Bridgerton-worthy drama in a look centered around a corset.

8. OTA Performance - $250

• Dramatics: Set the stage ablaze in the soft glow of pastel yellow.

• Soft & Cunt: Mesmerize with a performance in delicate pastel pink.

• Beginners: Bring it in white with bright pastel accents. GP battles for the cash. 

9. Kiki Labels - $100

• Come ready to sell your regency-era spectator looks on the runway. 

10. 5 Kidz Categories ($250, $50 each)

• Face: Bring it in a tiara or crown fit for royalty.

• Runway: Bring it in an effect featuring lace as the centerpiece.

• Bizarre: Bring it in your own interpretation of Lady Whistledown’s manuscript. 

• Schoolkid Realness: Take us back to the regency classroom with a scholarly, era-appropriate look.

• Best Dressed: Bring it in your interpretation of what it means to be royalty.
